Subject: Activist investor no longer holds CA stock

In its quarterly SEC Form 13F filing this morning, the activist fund Relational Investors LLC reported that as of 9/30/06 it no longer held any shares of CA.  As recently as its August Form 13F report for the period ending 6/30/06, Relational Investors had reported holding 29,316,054 CA shares (5.17% of the total outstanding).

It had been reported in March 2006 that Relational Investors intended to press for changes at CA, believing that the stock was undervalued by 30%.  (CA stock was trading in the $27-28 range at the time, compared with its recent range under $25.)  The fund's interest in CA was first reported in September 2004.
