Management Letter Referring to Unidentified Misrepresentations, "Rumors and Misquotes"

(July 17, 2003)

The company's Treasurer, John E. Simmons, faxed a letter to Gary Lutin on the evening of July 17, 2003 stating that Mr. Lutin's July 10, 2003 letter addressed to the company's directors "misrepresents" a July 7, 2003 report in The Deal, without indicating what was believed to be misrepresented.  Mr. Simmons' letter also suggested some unexplained inconsistency with a statement quoted from the company's April 30, 2003 press release, and referred to unidentified "rumors and misquotes."

Mr. Lutin requested explanations of Mr. Simmons' statements the next day in a responding letter to the company's directors.

A copy of the letter from Mr. Simmons can be viewed from a link in the box below.
