Shareholder Support Rankings™
From 2012 until
2019, the Shareholder Forum provided free research analytics of "Say on
Pay" proxy voting results, allowing website visitors to enter the name or
ticker symbol of a company or index to see the kind of graph shown on the
right. Results were available for all Russell 3000 companies and other
public companies that were subject to SEC requirements to provide an
advisory shareholder vote on the compensation of top executives, making
their results comparable.
As a broadly
comparable measure of shareholder support for a company's management,
these rankings were useful in determining a company’s
vulnerability to activist or other dissident initiatives.
Since it became
apparent by 2019 that the graphs were being used almost exclusively by
professionals who were or could be subscribing to the
research resources from which the Forum's data was obtained, the Forum's
expenditures to provide the graphs for free public use were considered unnecessary and
discontinued.
This important
research data remains available directly from the Forum's source,
Proxy Insight.
